The Word

The Word

That ancient Word from ever of old—

The greatest message that one could be told.

It’s fresh everyday from the Father above—

The precious unveiling—a heart full of love.

Unchanging like him—certain and sure,

It shall not falter but always endure.

That Word in its power abideth in me—

Its mystery—its truth—has now set me free.

The Logos—the thought—of Almighty God

Shall guide my footsteps wherever they trod.

My feet shall not slide, but certain they’ll be.

My eyes have been opened and now I can see.

The trap that the tempter had once set ahead

No longer I fear—no longer I dread.

The Word has come—He speaks to the heart.

The message is sure—it comes not in part.

“Do not fear—but trust in Me.

I’ve made you what you ought to be.

“Do not struggle—no longer strive,

For I‘m the One who makes you alive.

“My Word shall not change—but you I’ll refine—

I bought you myself—and now you are mine.”
